Enter your modules with their ECTS credits and grade to see your current GPA. Then set a target final grade and find out what average you need in your remaining ECTS.
Each module counts in proportion to its ECTS credits — a 10-ECTS module affects your GPA five times as much as a 2-ECTS module.
Enter your current standing, your remaining ECTS, and your desired final grade — the calculator tells you the average you need in your remaining credits.
Overall GPA = Σ (grade × ECTS) / Σ ECTS. For the target grade, the formula is rearranged to solve for the missing grade: we're looking for the grade x in your remaining ECTS such that (ECTS so far × current GPA + remaining ECTS × x) / (total ECTS) = target grade. Since a lower number is a better grade in Germany, the required grade can come out below 1.0 (not achievable — you're already better than you need to be) or above 5.0 (no longer mathematically reachable) — the calculator flags both cases clearly.
